Announcers: Thunderbolt Smith and ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall

Backstage Interviewer: Kellie Burkowski

Ring Announcer: Heather Cooper

Thunderbolt Smith and ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall stood in the center of the ring, energized by the 4,300 fans cheering them on.

“Welcome, everyone, to Wrestling Night in the Heartland!” Thunderbolt shouted into his microphone, “Tonight, we are coming to you from the Banterra Center on the campus of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois!

Again the crowd let out a roar.

“Tonight, we’ve got Laney Harrison and McLean Oswald taking on The Rose Warriors in a Women’s Tag Team #3 versus #4 contender’s match,” Thunderbolt announced, eliciting a fresh wave of raucous cheers from the crowd. “We’ve got ‘The Shadow Warrior’ Shizuko Yamazaki going up against Yosemite Samantha in a Women’s Division #2 versus #3 contender’s match.  And in our main event, the MVW champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson takes on the ageless Absolute Zero.  Rick?”

“Not much to add,” Hall said.  Looking forward to the two women’s matches.  Yamazaki and Yosemite Samantha always have a go at each other and so do The Rose Warriors and Laney Harrison and McLean Oswald.”

“We’re going to go right to the ring,” Thunderbolt said, “to the lovely Heather Cooper who’ll introduce the two teams in our first match of the night.”

The crowd roared in approval as Heather Cooper, MVW’s sultry ring announcer, stepped into the spotlight.

George hoisted Starr up for a second Texas Sized Slam, driving him into the mat with a thunderous impact. Bo Stevens and Scott Stevens joined in the assault, racing around the ring to attack and then taking turns pummeling John Wack with brutal strikes. The crowd jeers as the relentless beatdown continued.

“Enough is enough!” Thunderbolt Smith shouted, his voice rising above the din. “Someone needs to put an end to this.”

As if on cue, MVW majority owner Ray McAvay strode out from the back, his face set in a determined scowl.

“And here we go!” Thunderbolt exclaimed.

“ALRIGHT! THAT’S ENOUGH!” he bellowed into a microphone, stopping the Stevens in their tracks.

“About time someone put these guys in their place,” Hall muttered under his breath.

McAvay made his way down the ramp and rolled into the ring, his eyes locked onto Cary Stevens, the family patriarch. “Now that I’ve got your attention,” McAvay began, “I have some announcements for Night of Champions.”

The Stevens were still seething but paused to listen.

“First off,” McAvay continued, “the Women’s Tag Team Title match will be The Hanson Sisters defending against Jill Berg Enterprises.”

Thunderbolt chimed in, “No surprise there.”

“Nope,” added Hall.

“Next up,” McAvay said, turning to the Stevens Dynasty, “is the Men’s Tag Team Title match. If we’re all being honest here, it’s hard to argue against the fact that you all deserve the spot.”

Cary nodded his head in agreement.

McAvay continued, “However, you can also make the argument that The Alabama Gang had a great year and they deserve to wrestle at Night of Champions.”

Cary and the other Stevens do NOT agree with that statement.

“So, this is what I’ve decided to do,” McAvay said.  “Next Tuesday night.  It’s going to be The Stevens Dynasty against The Alabama Gang… and the winner gets a title shot at Night of Champions.”

“Well now…,” Thunderbolt said.

“Big surprise,” Hall observed.  “But the right decision.”

The Stevens were livid, their faces turning crimson with anger. Cary Stevens pointed an accusing finger at Ray McAvay and yelled, “You can’t do this to us! We’re the best tag team in MVW!”

Ray shrugged.

“You’ll have to take it up with the Alabama Gang next week,” he replied coolly, his eyes never leaving Cary’s.

“Wow,” Hall said, shaking his head. “That’s quite the announcement from our boss.”

“Indeed,” Thunderbolt agreed. “Three of the six title matches have been booked for Night of Champions.  And with that, we’ll take a quick commercial break. Don’t go anywhere, folks!”

As the scene faded out, the Stevens continued to argue with McAvay, their voices growing louder and more heated by the moment.

Back from the commercial break, Thunderbolt and Hall were still buzzing with excitement from the earlier announcement. The camera zoomed in on their faces, capturing the anticipation in their eyes.

“Welcome back, folks,” Thunderbolt began, his voice an even mix of enthusiasm and professionalism. “We’ve got a packed show ahead of us tonight. Let’s run down the rest of the card, shall we?”

“Absolutely, Thunderbolt,” Hall chimed in, leaning forward in his chair. “Up next, we have The Rose Warriors taking on Laney Harrison and McLean Oswald in a #3 vs. #4 contender’s match in the Women’s Tag Team Division. This one is going to be a barn-burner.”

“Indeed, Rick,” Thunderbolt agreed. “Following that, ‘The Shadow Warrior’ Shizuko Yamazaki challenges Yosemite Samantha for the #2 contender’s spot in the Women’s Division. These two ladies always put on a great show, and I’m sure tonight will be no different.”

“Can’t wait for that one,” Hall added, nodding his head. “And for our main event, we’ve got a non-title match between ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson and Absolute Zero. This is a real clash of styles, Thunderbolt. It’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top.”

“Agreed,” Thunderbolt replied, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. “Now, let’s send it down to the ring and the lovely Heather Cooper for our next match.”

As the camera panned over the roaring crowd, Heather Cooper stood in the center of the ring, her sultry brown eyes scanning the audience. With a flick of her long brunette hair, she raised the microphone to her lips and began the introductions for the upcoming match.

“Wow, what a match!” Thunderbolt exclaimed, clapping his hands together. “Harrison and Oswald came out on top, but The Rose Warriors put up one heck of a fight.”

“Absolutely, Thunderbolt,” Hall agreed, nodding his head. “This win means that Harrison and Oswald will face off against #2 contenders, The Working Girls on Saturday night. They’ve shown great improvement tonight, and I’m excited to see how they fare against such experienced opponents.”

“Couldn’t agree more, Rick,” Thunderbolt said, smiling broadly. “With matches like these, it’s no wonder MVW is the hottest ticket in town. Now, let’s take another quick commercial break, and when we come back, it’s time for ‘The Shadow Warrior’ Shizuko Yamazaki versus Yosemite Samantha. You won’t want to miss this!”

As the camera pulled back, capturing the wild energy in the arena, the scene faded to black, leaving viewers eager for the next thrilling matchup.

The camera returned from commercial break to find Thunderbolt Smith and ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall seated behind the announcer’s desk, their faces animated with excitement.

“Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen,” Thunderbolt said, his voice charged with energy. “Before we get to our next big women’s singles match, let’s talk about the Carmondy Cup!”

“Absolutely!” Hall chimed in, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. “The Men and Women’s singles tournaments are down to their final eight competitors, and what a lineup we have! The big story here is the run of the mysterious Masked Texan who came out of nowhere to reach the quarterfinals. He’ll be facing Ricky Stevens on December 1st.”

“Indeed,” Thunderbolt agreed, nodding his head. “And let’s not forget the other men’s matches: Cletus T. Johnson vs. John O’Reilly, Scott Stevens vs. Buckshot Henderson, and Bill Dickinson vs. Mike McWilliams. These are all going to be intense showdowns.”

“In the women’s tournament,” Hall continued, his eyes widening as he read off the list, “we’ve got Amberley Stanton taking on Shizuko Yamazaki, Lani Harlot against Tammie Hardy, Tessa Martin battling Yosemite Samantha, and the big one – Women’s Champion Jennifer Colton has been drawn to face Victoria McGill! This is going to be a wild ride, folks.”

“Speaking of wild rides,” Thunderbolt added, shifting gears to discuss the tag team portion of the Carmondy Cup. “The Stevens Dynasty and The Alabama Gang have two big matches coming up against each other this weekend. On Friday night, they’ll face off in the Carmondy Cup, and then next Tuesday there’s that specially-booked match for a title shot against No Quarter at Night of Champions.”

“Wow!” Hall exclaimed, shaking his head in disbelief. “And in the second semi-finals, Kings of the Wild Frontier will go up against Tag Team champions No Quarter on Saturday. As for the Women’s tournament, The Missouri Valley Fight Club is set to take on tag team champions The Hanson Sisters on Saturday, while on Sunday, Jill Berg Enterprises will challenge The Working Girls in their semi-final match.”

“Fans at home better buckle up,” Thunderbolt said with a grin, tapping the desk for emphasis. “We’ve got some incredible action coming your way. But right now, we have an amazing women’s singles match lined up for you after these commercial messages. Stay tuned!”

“Let’s talk about our next match, Rick,” Thunderbolt said, turning to his colleague. “Shizuko Yamazaki and Yosemite Samantha have been going toe-to-toe for weeks now, battling for position in the Women’s Division.”

“Absolutely, Thunderbolt,” Hall agreed. “These two always put on great matches. You can feel the rivalry between them, and it just keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to see what they bring tonight.”

“Neither can I,” Thunderbolt replied, nodding enthusiastically. “So without further ado, let’s send it down to Heather Cooper in the ring for the introductions.”

The camera panned down to Heather, who stood in the center of the ring with her microphone in hand. Her sultry brown eyes sparkled as she began the introductions.

“Here we go, folks!” Thunderbolt cried as the two women locked up in the center of the ring. “These two have been at each other’s throats for weeks, and tonight promises to be another classic battle!”

“What a match!” exclaimed Rick Hall.

“Unbelievable!” Thunderbolt exclaimed. “What a win by Yamazaki!”

“Absolutely incredible,” Rick agreed, still processing the stunning sequence that had ended the match. “That Floatover DDT took down Yosemite Samantha, and now Yamazaki will face Victoria McGill in a number one contender’s match next Tuesday.  This match was a hard-fought contest from the opening bell and both women went after each other as the intense rivalry between Shizuko and Yosemite Samantha played out in the ring.”

“Shizuko Yamazaki will face Victoria McGill next Tuesday night in a #1 contender’s match,” Thunderbolt said, addressing the viewers at home. “But for now, we’re going to take a quick commercial break. Don’t go anywhere – there’s more MVW action coming your way right after this!”

With that, the show cut to commercials, leaving the audience breathless from the thrilling match they had just witnessed – and eager for more.

Back from the commercial break, the camera panned to Kellie Burkowski backstage, standing next to a visibly irate Cary Stevens. The intensity in the air was palpable as Cary’s nostrils flared and his eyes flashed with anger.

Cary Stevens

“Thank you, Thunderbolt,” Kellie began, her voice steady despite the tension. “I’m here with Cary Stevens, who seems none too happy about the recent announcement that the Stevens Dynasty will have to face The Alabama Gang for a chance at the tag team title shot at Night of Champions. Cary, care to share your thoughts?”

Cary clenched his fists, his jaw tight as he glowered at the camera. “Kellie, this is a damn travesty!” he spat, his Texas accent thickening with every word. “My boys, Bo and George, are the best tag team in MVW. Forcing them to go through those overrated Alabama Gang clowns just to get a shot at No Quarter? It’s ridiculous!”

“Can the Stevens Dynasty overcome this obstacle?” Kellie asked, trying to maintain a professional demeanor.

“Obstacle?” Cary scoffed. “More like a minor inconvenience. We’ll destroy those fools in the ring and show everyone exactly why we deserve to be the champions.”

“Very well,” Kellie nodded, wrapping up the interview. “Thank you for your time, Cary. Back to you, Thunderbolt.”

The scene shifted to the stage area, where Women’s Champion Jennifer Colton stood, microphone in hand. Her eyes were ablaze, and she radiated an air of determination.

Jennifer Colton

“Jill Berg Enterprises,” Jennifer snarled into the mic, sending chills down the spine of everyone watching. “I don’t know what kind of games you think you’re playing, but I can’t wait to throw Victoria McGill into the side of that steel cage over and over again at Night of Champions!”

Jennifer’s eyes narrowed, her focus unwavering. “You and your cronies might think you can intimidate me, but I’ll prove that McGill can’t beat me in a fair fight. Mark my words, the Women’s Championship is staying right where it belongs – with me!”

With those final, fiery words, Jennifer dropped the microphone and stormed offstage, leaving the audience buzzing with anticipation for the upcoming Night of Champions event.

The camera cut back to Kellie Burkowski, who now stood beside Jill Berg, the CEO of Jill Berg Enterprises. Jill’s face was a mask of controlled fury, her eyes sparking with indignation as she listened to Kellie’s question about Ray McAvay’s decision to book Victoria McGill in a cage match against Jennifer Colton.

“Let me tell you something, Kellie,” Jill snapped, her voice sharp-edged and biting. “Jennifer Colton can’t hang with the corporate power backing Victoria McGill. Cage or no cage, Tori will prove that at Night of Champions.”

Kellie shifted slightly, taken aback by the intensity radiating from the woman beside her. It was clear that Jill viewed this matchup as a personal affront, an insult to both her and her protégé.

“Ray McAvay must be out of his mind,” Jill continued, her words dripping with disdain. “He’s setting up a situation where his precious Women’s Champion is going to be humiliated, and for what? To give the fans a little extra blood and violence?”

“Isn’t it true that many people believe Jennifer Colton has what it takes to defeat Victoria McGill?” Kellie asked, trying to keep the interview on track.

“Believe whatever they want,” Jill scoffed, rolling her eyes dismissively. “When the dust settles and the cage door slams shut, Jennifer Colton will be left broken and defeated while Tori stands tall, victorious.”

With that final declaration, Jill turned on her heel and stalked away, leaving Kellie to wrap up the interview. The scene transitioned back to Thunderbolt Smith and ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall at the announcers’ table.

“Strong words from Jill Berg,” Thunderbolt commented, shaking his head slightly. “But we’ve got to take a quick commercial break before tonight’s main event. Don’t go anywhere, folks.”
