Backstage Interviewer: Kellie Burkowski

Ring Announcer: Heather Cooper

The scene opened to a wild crowd of over 8500 people packed into the Charles Koch Center in Wichita, Kansas. The electrified atmosphere was palpable as fans eagerly awaited the night’s action. Wrestling Night in the Heartland had officially begun.

“Hello and welcome to Wrestling Night in the Heartland,” Thunderbolt Smith greeted the audience. “I am Thunderbolt Smith. He is ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall.”

“Hey,” Hall responded with enthusiasm.

“Tonight we are LIVE from the Charles Koch Center in Wichita, Kansas,” Thunderbolt continued. “We are one week away from the Carmondy Cup finals which we will have live on next Tuesday’s Wrestling Night in the Heartland and twelve days way from MVW’s final pay-per-view show of 2023 – Night of Champions. We already know two of the four title matches for the show. Tonight, the Stevens Dynasty and The Alabama Gang will fight for the Men’s Tag Team title shot at Night of Champions and we will also find out who ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson will face at Night of Champions in twelve days.”

“It’ll be interesting to see who Ray McAvay books for the title match,” Hall commented.

“Yes it will, Rick. We’ve got five matches for you tonight and let’s run them down real quick before we get to the action.”

“All right,” Hall began, “We’ve got a big #2 vs. #3 contender’s match in the Men’s Division between #2 Cletus T. Johnson and #3 John O’Reilly. Next up, the big Elimination match to determine No Quarter’s opponents at Night of Champions… The Stevens Dynasty vs. The Alabama Gang.”

“That’s going to be a good one, Thunderbolt,” Hall chimed in. “We’ve got Jill Berg Enterprises against Laney Harrison and McLean Oswald in a Women’s Tag Team Division #1 contender’s match.”

“Winner gets whoever is the Women’s Tag Team Champions in February,” Thunderbolt confirmed. “Victoria McGill and ‘The Shadow Warrior’ Shizuko Yamazaki go to war again in a #1 contender’s match for a future title shot.”

“Thunderbolt, last but not least… MVW Champion ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson is in action in our main event against Ricky Stevens,” Hall added. “Dickinson is closing in on Charlie Blackwell’s record for the longest MVW title reign.

“Also, we will look at last weekend’s Carmondy Cup matches. We know who will be in the singles semi-finals and the tag team finals. Two big upsets as MVW Tag Team Champions No Quarter and Women’s Champion Jennifer Colton lost,” Thunderbolt mentioned. “Congratulations to Kings of the Wild Frontier on their upset win. And Tori McGill finally got a legit win over Jennifer Colton.”

“All right, let’s go to Heather Cooper in the ring for our first match of the night,” Thunderbolt concluded as the camera panned over to the sexy and sultry ring announcer, Heather Cooper, who was ready to introduce the contenders and kick off an unforgettable night of wrestling action.

“Our first match will be a Men’s Division #2 versus #3 contender’s match,” Heather announced.

“O’REILLY DOES IT!” Thunderbolt exclaimed as the crowd roared in approval. John O’Reilly stood tall in the center of the ring, sweat dripping down his brow after an intense battle with Cletus T. Johnson. He raised his right hand, showing off the power that had just won him the match and moved him up in the rankings. “Thunderbolt, O’Reilly’s known for that Cannonball Right Hand,” Hall chimed in. “But he also has learned so much over the past couple years and that backfist stunned Johnson.”

“O’Reilly moves up to #2 in the rankings, but it looks like Kellie Burkowski is going to talk to Cletus T. Johnson and Dawn McGill,” Thunderbolt said, glancing over at the defeated wrestler and his manager outside the ring. The camera followed Kellie as she approached the pair, microphone in hand.

“Thanks, Thunderbolt,” Kellie said, stepping up to Cletus and Dawn. “Cletus, tough loss tonight, but you’ve got Dawn McGill back in your corner. Can you tell us about your plans for the future?”

Cletus wiped the sweat from his brow, his rural Kentucky accent coming through strong. “Well, Kellie, I’m ready to get back with Enos and start kicking ass in the tag team division again.” A determined look crossed his face, and the crowd cheered in anticipation.

“Right on!” Kellie replied, turning to Dawn. “And how do you feel about returning to the Kentucky Redneck Mafia?”

Dawn, her eyes filled with a fire not seen in quite some time, responded without hesitation. “The KRM is coming back in 2024 with something to prove, and so am I. I’m the manager of champions, and I look forward to leading the Kentucky Redneck Mafia to the tag team title.”

“Sounds like exciting times ahead,” Kellie said, beaming. “Thank you both for your time.” She turned back to the camera, adding, “Back to you, Thunderbolt and Hall.”

“Thanks, Kellie,” Thunderbolt responded as the camera focused on him and Hall once more. “We’ll be back after these commercial messages.”

High Octane Wrestling

“Welcome back to Wrestling Night in the Heartland!” Thunderbolt Smith announced, his voice booming through the Charles Koch Center. The crowd was buzzing with anticipation as they awaited the upcoming showdown between the Stevens Dynasty and The Alabama Gang. Over 8,500 wrestling fans filled the arena, their raucous energy infectious.

“Last week on Wrestling Night in the Heartland,” Thunderbolt continued. “Cary Stevens had a few choice words for Ray McAvay and The Alabama Gang.”

“Next up,” McAvay said, turning to the Stevens Dynasty, “is the Men’s Tag Team Title match. If we’re all being honest here, it’s hard to argue against the fact that you all deserve the spot.”

Cary nodded his head in agreement.

McAvay continued, “However, you can also make the argument that The Alabama Gang had a great year and they deserve to wrestle at Night of Champions.”

Cary and the other Stevens do NOT agree with that statement.

“So, this is what I’ve decided to do,” McAvay said.  “Next Tuesday night.  It’s going to be The Stevens Dynasty against The Alabama Gang… and the winner gets a title shot at Night of Champions.”

“Well now…,” Thunderbolt said.

“Big surprise,” Hall observed.  “But the right decision.”

The Stevens were livid, their faces turning crimson with anger. Cary Stevens pointed an accusing finger at Ray McAvay and yelled, “You can’t do this to us! We’re the best tag team in MVW!”

Ray shrugged.

“You’ll have to take it up with the Alabama Gang next week,” he replied coolly, his eyes never leaving Cary’s.

Cut back to the ring, where Cary Stevens, flanked by Bo and George Stevens, paced impatiently.

The camera zoomed in on Cary’s face, which was twisted into a scowl. His fists clenched at his sides, the patriarch of the Stevens Dynasty seethed with indignation. “Ray McAvay!” he spat into the microphone, the name dripping with disdain. “You think you’re clever, don’t you? Scheduling this elimination match tonight to determine No Quarter’s opponents at Night of Champions?”

Cary surveyed the audience, sneering at the sea of faces that had come to see the event. “Well, listen up, McAvay! You can’t keep us down! It doesn’t matter who you throw at us—The Alabama Gang or any other half-witted team you pull out of your hat! We’ll crush them all!”

“Speaking of The Alabama Gang,” Cary continued, a wicked grin spreading across his face, “Did you invite your half-witted relatives to the show tonight?” The crowd jeered at the cheap shot, but Cary reveled in it.

“Enough talk!” Cary barked, dropping the microphone and storming out of the ring. Bo and George followed close behind, their expressions a mix of anger and determination.

As the Stevens Dynasty disappeared backstage, Kellie Burkowski caught up with The Alabama Gang. R.G. Jenkins stepped forward, his eyes locked on the camera. “To everyone who is overlooking us,” he declared, his voice steady and confident, “telling us that we were a half-year wonder, to every hater who preyed and celebrated on our downfall, I’ve got a question: where will you be when the Alabama Gang knock off the Stevens Dynasty?”

Sunny chimed in, her gaze just as focused and unyielding as R.G.’s. “You’d think people would get it by now. When The Alabama Gang fall, we get back up. The more R.G. works, the harder Mark works.” She paused for dramatic effect, then added, “And when we win tonight, we’ll get to stand up here and bark back at Cary Stevens!”

“Thanks, Kellie,” Thunderbolt said as the camera cut back to him and Hall at the commentary booth. “Now let’s go ringside, where Heather Cooper awaits for our big elimination match.”

“Ladies and gentlemen,” Heather said, “our next match will be an elimination match where the winner will go on to Night of Champions to face MVW Tag Team champions No Quarter!”

“Winner faces No Quarter at Night of Champions!” Thunderbolt excitedly said.

“Here we go,” Hall added.

“Wow!” Thunderbolt exclaimed, his voice rising with excitement as the Alabama Gang celebrated their unexpected win. The crowd roared their approval, a sea of cheering faces and waving flags. “Bo Stevens got mugged by Jenkins and Hendry outside the ring, got left in a heap on the floor, and was counted out by Referee Ron Martin! This means the Alabama Gang will face No Quarter at Night of Champions!”

As the camera panned back to the action in the ring, George Stevens and R.G. Jenkins continued to throw down, fists flying furiously. Cary Stevens, still fuming from the outcome of the match, tore into referee Ron Martin, his words cutting like a whip. It was utter chaos.  Cary lunged towards Sunny O’Callahan when she climbed up onto the apron and started taunting him.

“Cary Stevens just went after Sunny O’Callahan!” Hall interjected, pointing out the altercation happening on the side of the ring.

Hendry and Jenkins double-teamed George Stevens with a powerful suplex, sending him crashing to the mat. The air crackled with tension as Thunderbolt sent the broadcast to a commercial break.

“Whew, what a chaotic scene,” Thunderbolt remarked as they returned from the break. He and Hall quickly recapped the Alabama Gang-Stevens Dynasty match before sending it over to Kellie Burkowski backstage.

Kellie stood beside Jill Berg, CEO of Jill Berg Enterprises and a fierce presence in her own right. With her piercing gaze fixed on the camera, Jill wasted no time explaining why she’d demanded this interview tonight. “I want everyone watching to know that Victoria McGill’s win over Women’s Champion Jennifer Colton in the Carmondy Cup quarterfinals was no fluke,” Jill declared, her voice steely. “I told you all that Jennifer couldn’t hang with the corporate power backing Victoria, and Tori proved it this weekend.”

“Mark my words,” Jill continued, her eyes flashing with determination. “At Night of Champions, when the dust settles and the cage door slams shut, Jennifer Colton will be left broken, defeated, and beltless, while Tori stands tall, victorious, the new Women’s Champion.”

“Tonight, we’re going to watch Jill Berg Enterprises destroy Laney Harrison and McLean Oswald,” she added, a predatory smile crossing her lips. “And then, Tori will take care of Shizuko Yamazaki later on.” With that, Kellie wrapped up the interview, sending it back to Thunderbolt and Hall at the commentary booth.

Thunderbolt and Hall couldn’t contain their excitement as they discussed Tori McGill’s impressive victory over Women’s Champion Jennifer Colton in the Carmondy Cup. The two commentators noted that with Victoria, Bill Dickinson, and The Hanson Sisters all still in the running, there was a strong possibility of a repeat Carmondy Cup championship for this powerful group.

“Alright, folks! It’s time for Jill Berg Enterprises to face off against Laney Harrison and McLean Oswald!” Thunderbolt announced, his voice booming with anticipation. “Heather Cooper is in the ring, so let’s get ready for some intense action!”

The camera panned down to Heather, who stood confidently in the center of the ring, her sultry smile and inviting gaze captivating the audience. She held the microphone steady, her voice echoing throughout the arena as she said, “This match is a Women’s Tag Team Division #1 contender’s match!”

“Wait a minute! What happened?” Thunderbolt asked, his voice rising in disbelief after Bailey Jenkins counted out Madison Miller. He hadn’t seen the tag between Sheline Carrigan and Miller, but Hall filled him in on the crucial detail.

“Right before the big scrum on the floor, there was a tag between Miller and Carrigan before everyone ended up on the floor,” Hall explained. “McLean Oswald was just destroying everyone in sight – Carrigan, Miller, and even Jill Berg!”

Thunderbolt’s eyes widened as he took in the unfolding chaos. “This is a huge upset!” he exclaimed. “Jill Berg is not happy at all, and she’s giving referee Bailey Jenkins an earful right now!”

In the ring, Laney Harrison snatched the microphone from Heather Cooper, her fierce gaze locked on Jill Berg. “You didn’t think we had a chance, did you?” she taunted, the crowd roaring their approval. “Well, guess what? We don’t care who comes out of Night of Champions or the St. Louis Supershow as champions, because we’ll be waiting on February 7th for our chance!”

The camera zoomed in on Thunderbolt’s face, his excitement barely contained as he wrapped up the scene. “What a stunning turn of events, folks! We’re going to take a quick commercial break, but stay tuned for more incredible action when we return!”

Back from the commercial break, Thunderbolt Smith and ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall sat behind their commentary desk, their faces shining with excitement as they prepared to discuss the recent Carmondy Cup action. The camera panned across the enthusiastic crowd at the Charles Koch Center in Wichita, Kansas, capturing signs of support for various wrestlers and the electrifying atmosphere.

“Welcome back, folks!” Thunderbolt began, his voice booming through the arena. “What a weekend it’s been for the Carmondy Cup! Let’s dive right into the highlights.”

“Absolutely, Thunderbolt,” Hall chimed in, shuffling a few papers on the desk. “On Friday night, we had an intense Men’s Quarterfinal match where Cletus T. Johnson of the Kentucky Redneck Mafia defeated John O’Reilly. And who could forget The Masked Texan’s thrilling victory over Ricky Stevens?”

Thunderbolt nodded, his eyes gleaming as he continued, “And let’s not forget the Women’s Quarterfinals, where we saw Amberley Stanton pull off a shocking upset against ‘The Shadow Warrior’ Shizuko Yamazaki, while Tammie Hardy triumphed over Lani Harlot, the Queen of the Trailer Park.”

“Saturday night didn’t disappoint either,” Hall added, his voice filled with anticipation. “In the Men’s Quarterfinals, Scott Stevens emerged victorious against Buckshot Henderson, and our very own Men’s Champion, ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson, defeated Mike McWilliams.”

“Women’s action was just as thrilling,” Thunderbolt interjected, grinning from ear to ear. “Victoria McGill of Jill Berg Enterprises managed to defeat Women’s Champion Jennifer Colton herself, and ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin took down Yosemite Samantha.”

“Which brings us to the Men’s and Women’s Tag Team semi-finals,” Hall said, pausing for dramatic effect. “The Stevens Dynasty, consisting of Bo and George Stevens, managed to defeat The Alabama Gang, while Kings of the Wild Frontier, Boone Daniels and Crockett Davies, pulled off a major upset by defeating Men’s Tag Team Champions No Quarter!”

“Meanwhile, in the Women’s Tag Team division,” Thunderbolt continued, “Tag Team Champions The Hanson Sisters put an end to the four-time tag team champions The Missouri Valley Fight Club’s run, and Jill Berg Enterprises’ Sheline Carrigan and Madison Miller defeated The Working Girls.”

“Which means our Men’s Tag Team Carmondy Cup Final will be The Stevens Dynasty versus The Kings of the Wild Frontier, and our Women’s Tag Team Carmondy Cup Final will see Jill Berg Enterprises go head-to-head with The Hanson Sisters,” Hall concluded, his words punctuating the suspenseful atmosphere.

He announced the semi-final matches for Saturday night in Rockford, Illinois: The Masked Texan vs. Cletus T. Johnson and Scott Stevens vs. ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson for the men; ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin vs. Amberley Stanton and Victoria McGill vs. Tammie Hardy for the women.

The crowd roared as Victoria McGill stood triumphant in the center of the ring, her hands raised high in victory. Shizuko Yamazaki lay motionless at her feet, knocked out cold by McGill’s devastating finishing move. Jill Berg and Prisoner #034291 soon joined Tori in the ring, their expressions a mixture of relief and satisfaction as they basked in the deafening cheers of the audience.

“Victoria McGill has done it once again!” Thunderbolt Smith shouted into his microphone, trying to be heard over the din of the ecstatic crowd. “She remains the number one contender in the Women’s Division!”

“Absolutely incredible, Thunderbolt,” Rick Hall chimed in, his voice filled with admiration. “Tori is now guaranteed the next three Women’s title shots… Night of Champions, January’s St. Louis Supershow, and February 7th. Three chances to win the title.  The big question now is, can she build on what she did against Jennifer Colton Saturday night and do it?”

Thunderbolt nodded at Hall’s question.  “All right, main event coming up… right after these commercial messages.”

“’Redneck’ Bill Dickinson is two title defenses away from breaking Charlie Blackwell’s all-time record for the longest MVW Title reign in MVW history,” Thunderbolt proclaimed.  “But tonight, he faces a tough opponent in Ricky Stevens and Ricky is never an easy win.”

“It took two Southern Fried Powerbombs to finish the job,” Thunderbolt exclaimed, his voice booming over the cheering crowd. As Davey Keels raised Bill Dickinson’s arm in victory, Thunderbolt continued, “But it looks like ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson gets it done again and secures the win on a thrilling Wrestling Night in the Heartland.”

“Thunderbolt, Dru Danes distracted Keels when Dickinson hit the first one.  But Bill didn’t waste anytime in doing it a second time to secure the win.”

“All right, we head to Illinois to finish out 2024 with Rockford, Illinois this Saturday night with the Carmondy Cup semi-final matches and then next week… we will be LIVE at the Joseph J. Gentile Center in Chicago, Illinois for the Carmondy Cup Finals and the four final matches to determine this year’s winners.  Then… it’s the Wintrust Arena in Chicago for our final show of 2024… Night of Champions where-“

MVW majority owner Ray McAvay appeared on stage.

MVW Majority Owner
Ray McAvay

“You thought I forgot?” McAvay teased with a grin. “I’m here to announce who will face ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson at Night of Champions.” The crowd erupted with excitement.

“It wasn’t an easy decision,” McAvay admitted. “Bill has dominated the division this year, there’s no denying that.” A shot of Dickinson and his manager Sunny showed them watching McAvay intently.

“But who will get their shot at the title?” McAvay mused aloud. “Ricky Stevens has been a strong contender all year, as has John O’Reilly. Bracken Krueger could have made a case but he’s currently one half of the MVW Tag Team champions. And of course, there’s Luke Woods – who could also make a strong argument for a title shot.”

McAvay paused, scratching his chin as the audience eagerly awaited his decision.

Excitement was buzzing in the air as McAvay stood in the center of the ring, microphone in hand. The crowd erupted into cheers as he announced her decision.

“Guys, I’ll admit it.  I can’t decide who deserves the title shot at Night of Champions,” he exclaimed over the noise. “So here’s what we’re going to do.” McAvay paused for dramatic effect, before revealing the plan. “I’m going to do the same thing I did for the MVW Tag Team title match.”  The audience leaned forward, eager to hear more. “We’re going to have an elimination match this Saturday night in Rockford, Illinois.”

The cheers intensified, knowing that this meant an intense and unpredictable match was on the horizon. McAvay continued, building up the excitement.

“We are going to have…Luke Woods…” The crowd roared at the mention of one of their favorite wrestlers.  “…versus…Ricky Stevens…” Another fan favorite and skilled wrestler. “…versus…”

“There’s going to be a three-way match?” Hall asked incredulously, his face mirroring the shock and thrill of the audience.

“..John O’Reilly!” The crowd erupted once again, loving this unexpected twist. McAvay simply smiled in response, enjoying the wild reactions from the fans. “And the match and the Carmondy Cup semi-finals will be aired on a special edition of MVW’s Six-O-Five show!”

Thunderbolt chimed in with enthusiasm. “A three-way elimination match- Luke Woods versus Ricky Stevens versus John O’Reilly!”

“The winner,” McAvay added, “Faces Bill Dickinson on December 17th at Night of Champions.”

“There you have it!” Thunderbolt exclaimed.  We will see you Saturday night in Rockford, Illinois and then next week in Chicago for the Carmondy Cup finals.  For ‘Long Haul’ Rick Hall, I’m Thunderbolt Smith… thanks for tuning in!”
