Wrestling Night in America Preview

**June 30th – Wrestling Night in America PPV – Hale Arena / Kansas City, MO**

SPECIAL ATTRACTION: The Queens of Desire (Tammie Hardy and Savannah Smith) vs. The Soviet Bloc (Svetlana Kovaleski and Nikita Kalashnik)

MVW majority owner Ray McAvay booked this match between two warring factions in the Women’s Tag Team Division.  Dawn McGill formed the Queens of Desire and paired up two young and upcoming female wrestlers (Tammie Hardy and Savannah Smith) for a new tag team.  Dawn also brought in her daughter Victoria McGill to the faction after Tori had been unceremoniously kicked out from Jill Berg Enterprises.  Hardy and Smith began their rise up the rankings and ran smack dab into… The Soviet Bloc.

Svetlana Kovaleski and Nikita Kalashnik wrestled in MVW as Russian Assets with their handler Agent Valya. However, inspired by the exploits of Ivan Stanislav in PRIME Wrestling, Kovaleski, Kalashnik, and Valya changed their team name to the Soviet Bloc and rededicated themselves to gaining a foothold in MVW, aiming for the Women’s Tag Team title.  However, their efforts have been thwarted by The Queens of Desire… especially Dawn McGill… who’s untimely interference helped her Queens go over the Soviets.

SPECIAL ATTRACTION: ‘The New Age Cybertronic Criminally Insane Rogue Sentient Robot Wrestling Machine’ Ultratron-6.1 vs. ‘Suburban Homeboy’ Gary Walker

MVW minority owner Joe Bergman booked this match between ‘The New Age Cybertronic Criminally Insane Rogue Sentient Robot Wrestling Machine’ Ultratron-6.1- in MVW on and off for the past three years- and newcomer ‘Suburban Homeboy’ Gary Walker.  Ultratron-6.1 is a three-time Men’s Heartland Champion and earned promotion to the Men’s Division with a win over Buckshot Henderson.  Now, he’s aiming high… the MVW Title… and has his posse… The Kabal of Really Awful People… to support him.

Walker has also moved swiftly up the rankings, advancing out of the Midwest Division into the Heartland Division where he is currently ranked #2.  Walker and Ultratron-6.1 clashed a few weeks back.  They will do so again tomorrow night at Wrestling Night in America.

WOMEN’S HEARTLAND TITLE: Yosemite Samantha © vs. #1 Kirsten Canfield

Yosemite Samantha is an eight-year veteran of MVW, signing on in 2016.  She won her first title in 2022, defeating Victoria McGill for the Women’s Heartland title and lost it shortly after to Debbie the Destroyer.  Yosemite Samantha would win back the Heartland the next month from ‘Extreme Pizza Delivery Girl’ Tessa Martin and lose the title two weeks late to Martin.   She has risen as high as #2 in the Women’s Division contenders rankings but has not been able to break through.  Currently, Yosemite Samantha is the Women’s Heartland Champion after defeating Kirsten Canfield June 4th.

Canfield is also a long-time MVW wrestler having joined on in June 2015. She has won four Women’s Heartland titles- the first one some four and a half years ago after defeating Eva Perrin for the title.  After a brief title reign of two weeks, Canfield dropped the Heartland title to Victoria McGill but then won the title back from Tori several weeks later.  Two years later, Canfield won the title for a third time after defeating ‘The Queen of the Trailer Park’ Lani Harlot and earlier this year, Kirsten won her fourth Heartland title in March defeating Debbie the Destroyer.  Kirsten lost the belt in May to Harlot who vacated the belt five days later after earning promotion to the Women’s Division. Kirsten faced Yosemite Samantha there- lost.  Now she gets another shot at her.

MEN’S HEARTLAND TITLE: Buckshot Henderson vs. #1 Mark Hendry

Ultratron-6.1 vacated the Men’s Heartland title when he defeated Buckshot Henderson in a promotion/relegation match and went up to the Men’s Division leaving Henderson in a Heartland title match against the #1 contender Mark Hendry.

Hendry’s story is well-known in MVW circles.  He started as enhancement talent and then hooked up with R.G. Jenkins to form the Alabama Gang along with ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson.  Jenkins and Hendry had an incredible 2023, winning the MVW Tag Team title twice and the PWA Tag Team Title with an upset win over HOW’s Jace Parker Davidson and Scott Stevens.  However, Hendry broke away from Jenkins earlier this year and joined the Sports Entertainment Corporation as a singles wrestler. He’s powered his way up the rankings since and sits on the precipice of winning his first singles title.

Henderson’s had success wherever he’s been- from Appalachian Mountain Championship Wrestling to winning the Heartland title last year.

WOMEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE: Jill Berg Enterprises (‘Canadian Cyborg’ Sheline Carrigan and Madison Miller) © vs. The Working Girls (Caroline Lewis and ‘Queen Cool’ Leah Iris)

Sheline Carrigan and Madison Miller have ruled the Women’s Tag Team division for over seven months now following their win in December over The Hanson Sisters.  JBE had a very dangerous tag team before when Carrigan teamed up with Prisoner #034291.  But since Madison Miller came on board and Prisoner #034291 became the JBE enforcer, the tag team has flourished in ways not even JBE CEO Jill Berg could have imagined.

Their opponents The Working Girls are no strangers to titles either.  Caroline Lewis and Leah Iris are former MVW Women’s Tag Team Champions winning the belts back in 2017.  This is team that knows what they’re doing in the ring.  Lewis and Iris have enjoyed a very good 2024 and that’s earned them this title shot at Wrestling Night in America.

MEN’S TAG TEAM TITLE: The Stevens Dynasty (Bo and George Stevens) © vs. No Quarter (Bracken Krueger and Daryn Thompson)

With the Alabama Gang fading in the rankings, it’s been the Stevens Dynasty and No Quarter warring over the MVW Tag Team title for the past nine months.  The Stevens defeated the Alabama Gang in September 2023… No Quarter won the belts from the Stevens in November… The Stevens took back the belts in February 2024.  However, in the three rematches between both teams since then, No Quarter has won all three via DQ- spurring MVW majority owner Ray McAvay to add a stipulation to the Stevens Dynasty/No Quarter Wrestling Night in America showdown stating if the Stevens Dynasty are disqualified- the title will change hands.

WOMEN’S TITLE: Jennifer Colton © vs. Victoria McGill of the Queens of Desire

Thie first main event match will also feature two women who are also very familiar with each other.  Jennifer Colton rocketed onto the MVW scene early in 2023 and won the Women’s Title in June.  Victoria McGill ended Colton’s first title reign in December 2023 at MVW Night of Champions and Colton won the title back four months later in March 2024.

Colton has become one of MVW’s most popular wrestlers. She and McGill have tangled many times over the past year and there’s most definitely a rivalry there between the two women.  Colton’s never-say-die, gritty, fiery disposition contrasts with McGill’s allure… while she was part of Jill Berg Enterprises, especially since Tori joined forces with the Queens of Desire led by her mother Dawn McGill.

MVW TITLE: Luke Woods of the SEC © vs. ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson from the Alabama Gang

And in the second main event, it’s a rematch between challenger ‘Redneck’ Bill Dickinson and the man who put a stop to Dickinson’s 600 plus day, record MVW Title reign- Luke Woods.  Woods joined MVW last year and he rose up the ranks very quickly, winning the Men’s Heartland Title in June 2023 and then earning promotion to the Men’s Division in October.  Woods and Dickinson tangled at Night of Champions in December with Dickinson coming through with the win and then following that up with a huge win over Charlie Blackwell at the St. Louis Supershow that guaranteed Dickinson would break Blackwell’s record for the longest title run.

But Woods did not go away and in April put an end to Dickinson’s title reign and started one of his own.   He’s defeated Dickinson twice since then and looks to do it for a third time at Wrestling Night in America.
